This flower with antiseptic properties has been used for many years for its various medicinal properties. The original calendula species was probably in Asia and Eastern Europe, but it hardly occurs in the wild anymore.
There are both internal and external uses of this flower. Marigold is disinfectant, fights the bacteria bacillus subtillus, E. coli, staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa. This plant clearly belongs to the edible plants. You can add the leaves to salads and soups. The flowers are also used in the kitchen, if only to color rice or potatoes yellow.
